Visible fixed braces

For fixed tooth braces, called brackets, small knobs are affixed to a given position on the tooth. This bracket is a minor technical marvel, as it is programmed to position the tooth as it is later desired to be. An archwire made of flexible metal is inserted into the bracket. The strength and form of this wire determines the final positions of the teeth in the jaw, maximizing the effect of treatment. Because fixed braces remain in the jaw around the clock during the entire course of treatment, this provides for fast, efficient tooth movement.
