At the first appointment we only discover what you want, look at your concept and then examine your teeth, the position of your teeth and jaw, as well as the way you chew.
Afterwards, we discuss the findings with you and make proposals about the treatment. If further investigations are necessary, such as x-rays, photographs or jaw models, we can provide these immediately locally, or order these from your family dentist/previous dentist. If you feel unsure, a second consultation is advised. To this second appointment you should also bring along a friend or relative, so that you can return home together and compare notes.
If you then want an estimate of the costs, we will supplement the necessary data and make a second appointment at which we discuss the results of our evaluations of your data in great detail. You will receive the treatment plan/statement of the cost from us at this meeting. You should then submit this orthodontic treatment plan to your health insurance company, if you are privately insured. As a patient of the legal health insurance companies, we would go through the planning approval procedure with you.
When approval of the treatment plan has been received from the health insurers or your consent for treatment has been received, we can begin the treatment immediately.
