After Corrective Dentistry…
Crooked teeth never stop moving throughout life – but neither do straight ones. This is what makes the retention phase so important.
Movement proceeds very slowly, but at some point a visible malocclusion or chewing problems become noticeable. This is why we recommend to our patients that even after completion of their orthodontic treatment, they continue to wear a fixed, permanent retainer adhered to the inside of their teeth their whole life (!)
Wearing a removable retainer or splint is also advisable.
