Precaution for the Youngest
Some tooth and jaw problems are caused by bad habits, some of which can crucially affect the health of the teeth and the general health of a child.
Some children over the age of three years exhibit pronounced malposition of the incisors and a retraction of the lower jaw, caused by thumbsucking or pacifier use. Children who often suffer from illnesses in the upper air tracts often have an underdeveloped upper jaw. These are only two examples.
If your child has, for instance, a serious overbite, visible deviation of the lower jaw in one direction, or simply problems closing his or her lips, it generally makes sense to bring your child in to the practice by the age of 9.
